Today we had an excellent learning walk around South Moor exploring the historic sites. Mark took us round the South Moor Heritage Trail explaining the history of the miners who fought in the First World War. For more information see www.southmoorheritage.org.uk
Greenland Community Primary School
Earlier in the year, the local council held a competition for children to design a badge for the new heritage trail. The trail, around South Moor, has been designed to commemorate the soldiers and miners who died in the Great War. Kieran was really pleased to have his design chosen and it is something that will be seen by many people for many years to come.
