The CWGC only list 3 Brinton’s (have tried other spellings) and none apply to the brothers. No records via Ancestry. 1911 census record the family living at this address.
- 65 Pine Street - John Brinton: Born 1888 Catchgate. Son of James & Catherine Brinton. Husband of Eva Dixon, formerly Brinton.Only information available is John married Eva Simpson in 1915 and he had a daughter Betty born 17 Aug 1917 who died in 1995. Eva re-married in March quarter of 1918 to James W Dixon (making Johns death possibly between Dec 1916 – March 1918). Eva dies in 1932 aged 34 years and I have not been able to trace Betty’s children or family that have more knowledge. The name John Brinton also appears on the Altar Memorial in St Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Stanley. Brother James (above) also killed in service. Information same as above. (Both Memorials)

Died 16 December 1915 of Nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys) & dilated heart in the 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital, West Mudros, Lemnos, Greece.
